Rev. Calvin Sagherian (Badveli Calvin in Armenian), was born and raised in Beirut, Lebanon and attended local Armenian Evangelical schools.  When the civil war started in Lebanon in 1975, he immigrated to Toronto, Canada where he received his Bachelor's Degree.  During his years of active ministry with his church youth group, Badveli Calvin felt strongly led to prepare for the full time ministry.

In 1981 he moved to Southern California where after a year at Biola University, he studied at Talbot School of Theology, receiving his Master of Divinity.  During his years at Talbot, he was involved at Lake Avenue Church in Pasadena, CA. where he got his practical training on the job,  followed by a year of full time internship.

While at Lake Avenue Church, the Lord blessed Calvin with a precious wife, Janine Raymond.  They got married in 1986 and moved to Fresno, CA. where Calvin accepted the position of Assistant Pastor at Pilgrim Armenian Congregational Church, working mostly with youth and young adults.

In 1994, Calvin and Janine, with their two children, James and Emily, moved to Beirut, Lebanon to assume the position of Campus Minister at Haigazian University.  Besides teaching, counseling, evangelizing and organizing the spiritual activities on campus, Calvin was also involved in the life of the local churches.

The Sagherian family, with the addition of John, born in Beirut, responded to the call to move back to Pasadena, CA. to pastor the Armenian Brotherhood Bible Church as of September 1, 2000.

Calvin enjoys playing basketball and tennis.  He loves spending time with his wife and three kids on his day off and on the weekend.
